Harper's Ferry Bridge Harper's Ferry, West Virginia The new structurally and architecturally enhanced Harper's Ferry Bridge opened to traffic in November, 2000, after two years of construction. The 1,440 foot long, 16 million dollar structure now carries vehicular traffic on the heavily traveled US Route 340 corridor as well as hikers on the Appalachian Trail over the Shenandoah River.
