- Complete interchange reconstruction
- Widening/reconstruction of approx. 2.5 miles of I-95/I-495
- Encompasses 11 ramps and bridges 380,000 SF of total bridge deck
- 80,000 LF of concrete and steel piles to be driven
- Six construction stages with 12 traffic shifts
- Major interim milestone coordination with incentive/disincentive clauses
- Largest VDOT project in Virginia
- Drainage improvements, five box-culvert extensions, new traffic systems, lighting, signage, utility relocations, landscaping
- Environmental mitigation at Cameron Run Wetlands
- 321,000 SY of roadway paving; 100,000 SF of retaining and MSE walls; 150,000 SF of sound barrier walls; 500,000 CY of excavation
- Expected to refine traffic flow and provide easier/safer pedestrian access with elevated ramps
